INDICATIONS THAT A PERSON MAY BENEFIT FROM OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY
There are a number of signs which could indicate that a person may benefit from occupational therapy. These include:
- Difficulty holding a writing utensil
- Difficulty attending to tasks
- Poor time management
- Body posture is often slouched
- Poor balance
- Frequently bumps into things or seems clumsy
- Is hypersensitive to touch, sounds and movements
Although the above indicators are commonly seen in children, occupational therapist support is also useful for adults. Occupational therapists can support daily living following stroke or traumatic brain injury, education about aids and equipment, including wheelchairs and hoists and much more.
