Podiatry

What is Podiatry?

Podiatrists are lower limb experts who prevent, diagnose, treat and rehabilitate medical and surgical conditions of the feet and lower limbs. Podiatrists manage acute/sports injuries like ankle sprains, plantar fasciitis, stress fractures, Achilles tendonitis, shin splints and much more.  They can also help with feet and lower limb conditions which stem from other underlying health issues such as diabetes and arthritis.

When to see a Podiatrist:

  • Painful feet – arches, heel or forefoot pain
  • If walking or standing is uncomfortable
  • Leg or foot pain during sport
  • Numbness or altered sensation
  • Pain in your knees, legs, lower back or hips
  • Development of corns and calluses
  • Thickened or mis-shaped toenails
